BTL/Internacional Tourism Exhibition/Madeira Project

Being the BTL the biggest international tourism fair of Portugal, we created a project where it was exhibited the most successful touristic events of Madeira Island.
The Carnival, the Flower Festival, the Nature Festival, the Atlantic Festival, the Wine Festival, The Colombo Festival and the End of the Year Festivities had in the event their own spaces, created with scanned images and where the girls that were wearing the specific clothing from each event, could be found in the actual fair transmitting joy and kindness to the visitors.

RFM & Madeira Experience

60.000 people attended the Madeira Island promotion event at Chiado, in Lisbon that aimed to value the beauty of the Island through the Dream Flowers girls that received all the visitors with flowers and traditional candy necklaces. The floral decoration of the Carmo street for the RFM/MADEIRA EXPERIENCE event, made with 8.000 meters of plastic flowers was also a creation and responsibility of the Dream Flowers by Isabel Borges.

End of the Year Festivities 2015/Christmas Market

The aim for the Christmas Presents project is to cheer up the centre of the town during the month of December.
At Christmas we share even more some of the most beautiful things that we have in Madeira Island. Sweets, fruits, flowers, traditional hand made crafts, wine and smiles.
The joy that we give to others is the joy that we receive back to us!
The best Christmas presents are with no doubt the kindness, beauty and simpathy that the 28 “Christmas mothers” receive all the visitors with! Being them the ex libris of the project.

Flower Market in the city of funchal 2015

The girls, with their flower like dresses, graced the town during four days of party, interacting with the visitors, offering flowers and posing for the photographs that immortalize our “Flower Festival”.

Dreamland panel with 500m2/Praça Povo/Funchal

The 500 m2 panel created for the Praça do Povo had as theme the Madeira Island, or to say it in better words the Madeira Island seen through my eyes.
The inspiration had origin in Max Romer’s watercolor paintings about the old Madeira of 1940, its flowers, nature and the smiles of young people from Madeira. The contagious joy of the colors of our Island have an inner beauty that we should preserve, just like we should preserve the sound of music. It is a simple question of organizing the images, to find the way in which color conserves beauty and freshness valuing the evolving space.

Madeira Wine Festival 2014/Grapes in Festivity

Many times there are images from my journeys that mark my vision for future touristic events. This year, in one of the most beautiful and active spaces in Funchal, the girls that represent the “Grapes in festivity” project dressed in tones of a dry green and burgundy, will receive the tourists and residents in a more cheerful way that will be equally elegant. They will agitate the winery space beautifying the Madeira wine festival days at the Funchal downtown. Bunches of mature grapes preciously made with silk and organza and custom made felt hats according to the proposed theme will be represented by the girls that will walk through the central spaces of town every evening welcoming all the visitors with their usual beauty and sympathy.

The Kingdom of Flowers

The girls, with their flower like dresses, graced the town during four days of party, interacting with the visitors, offering flowers and posing for the photographs that immortalize our “Flower Festival”.

End of the Year Festivities 2013/”Mercadinho de Natal”

Beyond the illuminated firs, the poinsettias, the decorated huts by the marketers, the lights and Christmas decorations with giant Christmas balls, the girls are the main attraction of the “Christmas Market” project.
There are 24 girls, with their Christmas clothes and beauty. Smiles and sympathy will attract the tourists and the locals to the wooden huts where the regional products are sold.

Madeira Wine Festival 2013/Art and Grapes

The color purple, the color grapes have from the time they are harvest until the beginning of the wine production, is the main color of this project.
One of the most used castes in the Madeira Wine production is called Tinta Negra, in a dark purple shade.
It represents 85% of the Madeira wine production, producing dry, medium dry, medium sweet and sweet wines. The inspiration of the project, from the crosswalk that welcomes the visitors, to the projectors and purple led balls that light up the space, to the dresses and hats of the girls, came from the color of this famous caste.

Atlântida 2012/RTP Madeira Program

The Dream Flowers by Isabel Borges girls, dressed with the Madeira Flower Festival 2012 costumes, were invited to participate at the Atlantida program live recorded at the Funchal city.

Madeira Wine Festival 2012/Malvasia

The Malvasia caste was the first one being planted at Madeira Island. The Malvasia was produced by the Jesuit priests during the XVIII century and it is considered the king of wines of all the Madeira Wine production and the richest one. Therefore we picked the name Malvasia for this project where the Wine is the king and our girls are the queens!

End of the Year Festivities 2011/”Bonecas de Natal”

The main attraction of the “Christmas dolls” project are the 18 girls dressed with their Christmas dolls costumes, beauty, smiles and sympathy that will hug the tourists and local people that pass by the avenue with their “super magic Christmas hat”, inviting everyone to the huts where regional products are sold.
The “Magic hat” is the piece that all the girls have to wear, embracing the visitors from all over the world with Christmas spirit, friendship, fraternity and union.

Childrens Day/RTP1

On the 1st of June of 2011, it was held on the auditorium of the Municipal Garden the World Day of the Child. RTP1 transmitted live the show, with several guests along with the vitality of the activities fully dedicated to children. The scenography of this show stood in charge of the figurants of our group, the toddlers, which filled the auditorium with color and joy.

Madeira Wine Festival 2010/Sweet September

The malvasía wine is the noblest of the Madeira wines, known by the English as “Malmsey” for its sweetness and perfume.
This year the girls are wearing a “rural chic” costume, trying to recreate the dresses that the family ladies of high bourgeoisie used to wear while walking down their properties fashionably dressed during the hot sunny end of summer days.
At this specific set, in September, at the middle of the harvest, these girls weren´t the workers but the winery attracted everyone, inviting them for a couple of party days at the country side.
It is this same pretext that “Sweet September” intends to recreate, attracting the tourists and visitors in general, inviting them to taste our delicious Madeira Wine.
