Madeira Flower Festival 2011/Dahlias
My enthusiasm and fascination about this flower started after hearing all the stories that were told about the Dahlias during my trips to Mexico.
There it seemed like I was living in a dream, feeling in my heart this new country and welcoming nation. These people that live in Mexico plant the Dahlia flower in their front yards because they are aware that nobody will damage them or pick them up, they offer Dahlias to their girlfriends and it can even be found inside the churches. I have seen all kind of Dahlias in a huge variety of colors and shapes. I have met happy people in Mexico, as if happiness had been born many years ago inside a Dahlia’s petals.
According to the oldest legend, the dahlia emerged where the last fire was light up before the Ice Age Era. Its birth gave hope that would become the rebirth of life and happiness on Earth.
